Our Father is a God of process, even though He bypasses protocols for you, He will never eliminate the process required for you to have your desired result.

God can’t be bribed into promoting you beyond your capacity level, He is not a man that could be influenced to give you what you can’t manage.

They say “life does not give you what you deserve, but what you demand,” but I say to you, demand as you may, unless you have built enough capacity to handle it, God will not release it.

Apostle Paul said,

Think of it this way. If a father dies and leaves an inheritance for his young children, those children are not much better off than slaves until they grow up, even though they actually own everything their father had. Gal. 4:1

God, just like other responsible fathers, has a great plan for His children, but the same way you can’t hand your 8 years old son a key to your Ferrari because he can’t drive it yet, is the same way God won’t give you what you don’t have capacity to handle.

But the devil does exactly the opposite, he wants you to have it when you can’t handle it so it can wreck you.

You might have heard of people who asked for things and got those things through a never-giving-up-pursuit, only for them to get destroyed by those things.

God has an already prepared inheritance for you, but it gets delivered to you according to your level of maturity. Whatever you want God to do for you will be an additional responsibility, and it will take maturity not to mess it up.

God protects you by not giving you what can destroy you, but He protects His resources by not giving you what you will destroy for lack of competence or maturity.

God promised the Israelites a land flowing with milk and honey, but also warned them not to defile the land by defiling themselves. Lev. 18:24-25.

That shows He is not a waster of resources like some earthly parents are. If He withholds your access to His resources, it is not because He doesn’t love you, of course you bet He does, but simply because He won’t waste His resources thereby not losing on both sides. It is enough you are not capable, why then give you what you can’t manage?

The good news is, whatever you want is always available, and can get it when you have built enough capacity to handle it, that’s why Paul said “Until they grow up.”

Friend, there’s a place of glory already awaiting your arrival, but your level of preparedness determines how fast you arrive there.

Is what you are currently doing leading you closer to it, or it’s taking you farther away from your glorification?

Take time to audit your life and do thorough self examination, can you really handle the glory you seek, now?

Certain opportunities came to me that could launch me into stupendous riches, but I knew if God had allowed me to breakthrough in some of those highly lucrative ventures, I would have broken down completely, spiritual wise, and that could have wrecked my destiny.

That’s why we should thank God we didn’t have some of the things we asked Him for.

And we can be sure that our inheritance is intact, just we need to grow up so as to measure up to the required maturity needed to responsibly handle it.

I’ll close with this, every growing up requires a measure of ‘giving up,’ which in turn leads to ‘going up.’ What you are willing to let go of displays your level of maturity. So what are you willing to give up so you can grow up to claim your inheritance in Christ Jesus?
