For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us And Israel does not recognize us, You, O LORD, are our Father, Our Redeemer from of old is Your name. – Is. 63:16
Expecting to live a life of purpose and maximized existence without knowing God accurately and intimately, is like expecting an elephant to swim, or a whale to fly. Elephants are the biggest known land animals, and whales are the biggest sea creatures generally known to man, both have that title in common, but they can’t switch functionalities. An elephant cannot swim not because of its weight, and a whale can’t fly not because of its size, it s all a question of design. Design determines functionalities.
Man came from God, and was designed to be sustained by Him through an intimate Father-child relationship. This can be seen through what Jesus said to His disciples, in John 15:5
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
The vine is not just the source of life for the branch, it is also its only means of sustainability. That is a good description of how vital our relationship with God is. Outside of a nourishing relationship with God, just like a branch that’s detached or cut away from the vine, we can’t bear fruit, and will eventually become dried up and only good as firewood. If you have seen people who don’t know God but seem to be enjoying good level of result in life, all they’ve achieved or would ever achieve in life is summed in one word – NOTHING. That’s the only thing God said can be achieved without Him. That’s explains what Jesus meant when He said,
‘Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ – Matt. 7:22-23
That means the difference between those whose achievements in life is equal to nothing, and those with a recognized result is RELATIONSHIP,” Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you.”
So, that a man is applauded on earth for his achievement is not indication that he is successful in the sight of God.
Therefore, success or achievement in life is determined by the level of your relationship with God. Now, the quality of your relationship with a person determines what you enjoy from the person. If your experiences in life are not “god-class,” then you need to check your relationship status with God. And if your relationship is intact, but your experiences are not commensurate, then you are like the brother of the prodigal son in the Bible, though he was the Lord of all that the father had left, but due to a shallow knowledge of his father, did not know how to appropriate what was his from the father. You just need some growing to do, which is called KNOWLEDGE UPGRADE.
And that’s what this blog is aimed at, helping you to grow in your knowledge of God so as to enjoy a rich and intimate Father-child relationship with Him and maximize the benefits therein, all by the power of the Word through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
In the opening text above, Isaiah affirmed his knowledge of God as their Father, and addressed Him as one, fearlessly presenting is case to God, as the Father who will never abandon His children. It is all in your KNOWLEDGE of God. The devil can only torment or harass u to the degree of your knowledge or ignorance of your possibilities in God. That means your knowledge of God sets the boundary for your achievements in life and determines the quality of your existence and the fulfillment of your purpose on earth, and the same is responsible for your afterlife experience, where you will spend eternity.
Everything on this blog points to God and is Word-based, and is intended to help you:
- Know God accurately and intimately
- Love Him passionately
- Understand Him and His intention for all creations
- Live fully for Him and maximize existence on earth through the full manifestation of His glory, and,
- Reign with Him in eternity.
Let me quickly introduce myself. I’m Akinyele Tunde Peculiar, an undertaker of God’s Kingdom Agenda for the hour, and a caretaker of His flock. I’m “God’s Big Project In Progress”, I once felt if I was God, I could have given up on me. But just like a song writer wrote, “That’s just the way the Father is, He would be your friend when you are not His….” That is to say, I’m in the process of becoming all that God wants me to be, not there yet. I’m a perfect example of “The Foolish Things”, a recipient of His grace, a model of His love, and a proof that His gifts and His call are truly without repentance. He just wouldn’t give up on me.
In the words of Prophet Amos, “I’m not a professional prophet, and I was never trained to be one. I’m just a shepherd, and I take care of sycamore-fig trees.” Amos 7:14. Though unlike Amos, I was born into the linage of the Apostolic, my great grandfather co-founded the Christ Apostolic Church – CAC, with the great Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola and others, and he served as the first President of the church, while still reigning as the first Christian and first educated Olubadan of Ibadan land. But like Amos, it was never my plan to teach God’s Word, or be found as a man in his moves. My magnificent obsession was to explore the business world to the maximum degree possible, but He wouldn’t let me, He always intercepted my plans; however, like prophet Jeremiah, “His Words is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I’m weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.” Jer. 20:9. I figured that’s the call of destiny.
Every genuine messenger of God is a product of an encounter or a series of encounters with God. Also, everyone is limited to the degree of his encounters with Yahweh! Just in case you see anything remarkable as you read my posts, God is responsible for it. Nothing here is a product of intelligence, gift of gab, or even sound mind. I state it as it comes through the inspiration of God’s Spirit in me.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.” John 16:13
“But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.” 1 John 2:27
In case you are wondering why this blog is named A.T. Peculiar, “A.T. Peculiar” is a statement of description, not a name. Peculiar came from the Greek word ‘Periousios and the Hebrew word ‘Segullah,’ and both mean, God’s prized possession, a person of surpassing value that exists in God’s abundance, God’s special possession or God’s private property, specially chosen. Therefore, A.T. Peculiar is an affirmation of a revealed Identity in Christ.
But, remember, “We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Cor. 4:7
I’m a product of His Grace, no self righteousness to boast of, none!
So, friend, sing with me as we journey into all that God has for those who read my posts.
I’ll say yes, Lord, yes
To your will and to your way
I’ll say yes, Lord, yes
I will trust you and obey
When your Spirit speaks to me
With my whole heart I’ll agree
And my answer will be yes, Lord, yes
Lord, I give you all the glory
For all You’ve given me
You have filled my life until I overflow
All I have is yours to use
In an anyway You choose
You are Lord of all, so how can I say no?
If I never knew the fullness
of living in your will
I would never know how rich my life would be
Lord, my willingness to serve is the least that you deserve
for the blessings you have showered over me.
